Trapp Family Lodge Christmas

Day 1

This holiday getaway will be a truly memorable experience! We'll make our way to Stowe, VT. With stops for rest & lunch enroute, we'll arrive at the world-renowned Trapp Family Lodge for our three-night stay. Dinner will be included at the lodge.

Some rooms at Trapp Family Lodge will require the use of steps, make sure to let a reservationist know if a first-floor room is required.

Day 2

Following breakfast we'll tour the lodge and learn about the history of the von Trapp family. This tour will give you insightful information about the family, how they escaped Austria, and their early years in America. Included in our tour will be a viewing of the documentary film " The Real Maria". This film shows Maria's final trip to Salzburg, Austria. Next, we will depart for Downtown Stowe to have lunch on our own and do some shopping in this charming village. Next, we will visit the popular Cold Hollow Cider Mill for a self-guided tour of this working cider mill. We'll then head to Ben & Jerry's very first ice cream factory where we will have the opportunity to enjoy an included delicious treat. We will then return to the lodge for afternoon tea in the lounge followed by dinner.

Day 3

After breakfast we will meet our local guide for a day of touring. The first stop will be at the Morse Maple Sugar Farm to learn how Vermont Maple syrup is made, taste the different grades, and shop in the store. Next, we will tour the State Capitol in Montpelier and have lunch on our own in the Capitol Café. Our last stop of the day will be at Cabot Cheese Annex and Lake Champlain Chocolates for shopping. Make sure to pick up some authentic New England treats! We will return to the lodge for afternoon tea in the lounge followed by dinner.

Day 4

We will depart for home after breakfast. With stops for rest and lunch we'll be back in Pennsburg this evening.

Tips for Perkiomen motorcoach drivers and tour escorts are not included in the price of this tour. We feel that these gratuities should be extended on an individual basis and dictated by the level of service provided.

Motorcoach seating is assigned at the time of reservation but cannot be guaranteed. Although we do our best to keep each traveler in the seat assigned at the time of reservation, there are times that it is necessary to move seat locations. Please be sure to verify your final seat number(s) with your driver at the time of boarding. Historically, daily seat rotation was practiced on most multi-day tours. We have suspended this practice for a period of time. Seat rotation will be explained by your driver or tour escort if reinstated.
