Day 1

Our Southward journey will bring us to our lodging for the next three nights at the Woodlands Hotel & Suites, located near Williamsburg's Historic Area. Upon arrival you are free to enjoy Colonial Williamsburg and the remainder of the evening at your leisure. There is a complimentary shuttle available from the Visitor Center to the historic area and Merchant Square.

Day 2

Today we will visit Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum. A museum of 17th Century Virginia, Jamestown Settlement tells the story of America's first permanent English Colony featuring an indoor theater, exhibition galleries and an outdoor living history in re-created settings. After free time for lunch on your own, we will visit the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. This museum chronicles America's struggle for independence, from the beginning of the colonial unrest to the formations of the new nation. After returning to the hotel, you are free to enjoy the evening at your leisure.

Day 3

Today you are free to explore Colonial Williamsburg - explore the buildings where revolutionary ideas were born, discussed and disputed. From the imposing Governor's Palace, meant to signal British order and power, to the Capitol, where a successful vote initiated American independence - these brick structures hold the city's past, present and future. See how and where the residents of Williamsburg made a living. From a thriving Public Armory churning out weapons to the shop of a tailor looking for a new source of fabrics - hear how the economy was affected by the Revolutionary War. This afternoon we will enjoy a Thanksgiving meal at one of the Colonial Taverns.

Day 4

This morning we will step back in time to a bygone era and experience a genteel 18th century lifestyle at Berkeley Plantation. Nowhere can you find a more unspoiled and tranquil environment. Our history begins in 1619 when settlers observed the first official Thanksgiving in America. Berkeley's 1726 Georgian mansion is the birthplace of Benjamin Harrison V, signer of the Declaration of Independence and three-time governor of Virginia. The estate is also the birthplace of William Henry Harrison, ninth president of the United States, and ancestral home of his grandson, Benjamin Harrison, the twenty-third president. After our visit, we will depart for home. With stops for lunch and rest, arrival home is scheduled for this evening.
