About Tara
Tara ~ A Country Inn is a Gone with the Wind-themed bed and breakfast in Clark, PA that offers a quiet, comfortable stay in a relaxed country setting. The inn provides a welcoming alternative to busy hotels, focusing on simplicity, comfort, and attentive service.
The 27 guest rooms are uniquely themed, thoughtfully maintained, and offer modern conveniences such as private bathrooms, climate control, fireplace, jetted tub, Wi-Fi, and comfortable seating areas. Each room has either one king bed or one queen bed; there are no rooms with multiple standard beds. For guests who need additional sleeping space, a limited number of rooms include a sofa bed.
The inn does not have an elevator; however, stairways are equipped with handrails, and luggage service is provided. A small number of guest rooms are located on the first floor for those who require easier access, while the remaining rooms are situated on the second floor.
Additional amenities include inviting common areas, landscaped grounds, and on-site dining options, all contributing to a calm and uncrowded atmosphere.
Day 1
Today we depart for our "Gone With The Wind" getaway. With stops for rest and lunch, we will arrive at Tara ~ A Country Inn by early afternoon. Upon arrival we will have a guided tour of the Inn, before checking-in to our guest rooms. A family-style dinner will be included this evening.
Day 2
After breakfast at the Inn we will depart for a guided driving tour of Avenue of 444 Flags where we will honor America's veterans. 444 flags were placed in the Hillcrest Memorial Park as a symbol of the 444 days it took to release the 50+ Americans that were held hostage during the Iranian Hostage Crisis. These flags remain flying today to pay tribute to all veterans and as a reminder that freedom isn't free. Next, we will stop at Daffin's Candies to shop for some sweet treats. Daffin's is known for its milk and semi-sweet chocolate candies as well as their chocolate kingdom which includes large chocolate animals, chocolate castles, and an entire mini chocolate village. After lunch on our own we will have a guided tour of the Frank H. Buhl Mansion. Mr. Buhl, founder of Sharon Steel Corporation, built this "castle" for his beautiful bride Julia Forker in 1896. After Mr. & Mrs. Buhl passed away, the property was owned by many different people and was stripped of its spectacular architectural features. In 1996 the property was bought and fully restored and transformed into a beautiful, romantic bed & breakfast and spa. After, we will return to the Inn for some free time to relax and freshen up before our afternoon tea and dinner.
B, DDay 3
Following breakfast, we will depart Tara ~ A Country Inn. Enroute home we will stop at Wendell August Forge for shopping. Lunch will be included at a local restaurant. Arrival home is scheduled for early evening.
