Susquehanna River Cruise

Day 1

The day will include some highlights in Williamsport, PA - the seat of Lycoming County and part of the Susquehanna River Valley region.

Thomas T. Taber Museum - The museum chronicles the history of north central Pennsylvania, from American Indian occupation through 21st century industry and life. Exhibits include an American Indian gallery, a Fine and Decorative Arts gallery, the Shempp Model Train exhibit with over 300 toy trains, period rooms depicting life from the 1700s through the 1900s, and much more.

Le Jeune Chef - Visit the teaching restaurant at the Pennsylvania School of Technology, Le Jeune Chef to learn about the school's culinary program and get a taste of Le Jeune's delicious dishes. Lunch will include a salad, an entrée, and coffee/tea with dessert. A dessert chef will present a demo of our dessert, the restaurant's signature dish, known as 'Chocolate Soup.' This decadent dessert is a chocolate ganache lightened with cream, surrounding a coffee flan, and garnished with fresh berries, white and dark chocolate shavings, and Chantilly cream.

Hiawatha Riverboat - Travel the Susquehanna River on the Hiawatha Riverboat on a narrated cruise detailing the river's role in making Williamsport the lumber capital of the world in the mid-1800s. This narration depicts how logs from the north were corralled with underwater booms as jamcrackers risked their lives to keep the lumber flowing down river. We will also learn about a conductor on the Underground Railroad that used the river to help slaves from the south flee north.

A light meal stop will be made enroute home (not included in the cost of tour).

2. Seared Chicken Breast with Sundried Tomato & Spinach Cream Sauce, Pan Seared Fingerling Potatoes with Thyme & Rosemary, Grilled Asparagus with Lemon Zest
3. Tortellini Primavera with Tomatoes & Asparagus in a Creamy Tomato Sauce

All entrees are served with a salad with Italian dressing, rolls & butter, coffee or hot tea, and Le Jeune Chef's famous Chocolate Soup for dessert.

If a gluten-free meal is required, please let the reservationist know at the time of reservation. The chef will do his/her best to prepare a meal as close as possible to the above descriptions but there could be some variation.

Our intention is to run each tour as originally planned and published. However, if deemed necessary to do so, Perkiomen Tours reserves the right to make changes to tour components, schedules or itineraries without prior notification.

Tips for Perkiomen motorcoach drivers and tour escorts are not included in the price of this tour. We feel that these gratuities should be extended on an individual basis and dictated by the level of service provided.

Motorcoach seating is assigned at the time of reservation but can not be guaranteed. Although we do our best to keep each traveler in the seat assigned at the time of reservation, there are times that it is necessary to move seat locations. Please be sure to verify your final seat number(s) with the driver at the time of boarding.

To fully participate in this tour may require extended amounts of walking. There may be steps, inclines, uneven surfaces or extended periods of standing. Participants with physical limitation should take this into consideration.
