Passport Information

A passport is required for ALL travel between the U.S. and Canada.
A current passport that is valid for a least six months from the departure date of the trip is required to travel on Perkiomen Tours trips outside of the US.
Travelers are responsible to secure their own passport and to confirm that their passport meets this criteria.
Perkiomen Tours is not responsible for any issues that may occur at the border due to passport validity or lack of proof of citizenship.
If you are bringing children on the tour other than your own, customs is requiring that you have a registered letter of approval from their parents.

Day 1

Stops for rest & lunch will be made enroute to Ottawa, Canada's capital city and our destination for our first 2 nights. Known as one of the world's most beautiful capitals, the city is especially beautiful during the popular Tulip Festival. Throughout the city are beautiful blooming tulip gardens. Upon arrival in Ottawa we will check-in at the impressive and historic Lord Elgin Hotel, located in the heart of Ottawa's downtown government and business district, and only a short walk from some of the city's major attractions. Dinner will be included at a local restaurant.

Day 2

After breakfast we will experience the Canadian Tulip Festival at Commissioners Park. This festival claims to be the world's largest tulip festival, displaying over one million tulips! Next we will have a guided Historical Highlights walking tour visiting many sights including the National War Memorial, Parliament Hill, and The Chateau Laurier, followed by free time in ByWard Market for shopping and lunch. This afternoon we will tour Rideau Hall, the official residence of the governor general of Canada, the representative of the monarch of Canada, before a guided driving city tour of Ottawa and it's vast areas of interest. With some time to freshen up at the hotel, we will finish the day off with an included dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 3

Following breakfast we will visit the Upper Canada Village for a magical experience, transporting you back in time to the 1860s. It is one of the largest living-history sites in Canada. The village depicts life in a rural English Canadian setting during the year 1866. Featuring over forty historical buildings, many moved here prior to the flooding of the 'Lost Villages' during the St. Lawrence Seaway development project. There will be time for you to grab lunch on your own during our visit to Upper Canada Village. This afternoon we will enjoy a sightseeing cruise of the Thousand Islands highlighting the natural habitat and local living of the region. The Native Americans knew this beautiful collection of islands as the 'Garden of the Great Spirit'. This scenic boat tour takes you deep into the Admiralty and Navy Island groups where we'll see close-up views of private island estates and historic summer homes, natural rock formations, forests, and wildlife habitats. After our cruise we will head to Kingston and check-in to our lodging for the next two nights at the Delta Kingston Hotel. Dinner will be on your own this evening in downtown Kingston.

Day 4

After breakfast we will get acquainted with Kingston on a two-hour driving city tour. Nicknamed the "Limestone City", a noticeable lack of modern architecture helps to maintain the historical charm. Interesting museums and historical sites keep culture alive, while a pretty waterfront location, adds to the visual appeal. Next we'll visit Fort Henry. Situated atop Point Henry, the Fort protected the naval dockyard at Point Frederick, the entrance of the Rideau Canal and the town of Kingston. This afternoon is yours to enjoy as we return to downtown Kingston for lunch on your own and free time to explore. Dinner will be included at a local restaurant.

Day 5

Following breakfast at the hotel, we will check-out and travel to the 1000 Island Tower. Get a spectacular view of the 1000 Islands, 400 feet above the St. Lawrence River. The elevator takes 40 seconds to reach the first enclosed observation deck; two more open air decks are accessible by stairs. We will then bid farewell to Canada and travel back home. With stops for rest & lunch, we'll arrive home early evening.

Motorcoach seating is assigned at the time of reservation but can not be guaranteed. Although we do our best to keep each traveler in the seat assigned at the time of reservation, there are times that it is necessary to move seat locations. Please be sure to verify your final seat number(s) with the driver at the time of boarding. Daily seat rotation is practiced on most multi-day tours. Seat rotation will be explained by your driver or tour escort.

To fully participate in this tour may require extended amounts of walking. There may be steps, inclines, uneven surfaces or extended periods of standing. Participants with physical limitation should take this into consideration.
