Day 1
Today we will head for Norfolk, VA. Here we will celebrate at Harborfest, with 2026 marking the 250th anniversary of our nation's birth in 1776. With stops for rest and lunch, our arrival is scheduled for late afternoon. Following check-in to our lodging for the next three evenings, we will have an included dinner at a local restaurant.
DDay 2
This morning after an early breakfast, we will head to Fort Monroe for the spectacular Parade of Sail. 4,000 officers, cadets and crews of more than 55 ships from 20 nations will engage in this event along Virginia's waterfront. Our seating will provide great views of the harbor, tall ships, and the boats and vessels. There will be food trucks on-site for lunch on our own before a visit to the MacArthur Memorial in Norfolk's restored 1850s City Hall. Discover the compelling story of the five star Army General and the millions of Americans who served our nation through five wars. This evening, we will attend the Harborfest Celebration at Town Point Park. Enjoy at your own pace art and live entertainment, one of the largest fireworks shows on the East Coast, a drone show, Navy exhibits and demonstrations, interactive games and activities, and more. With many great food and beverage options to choose from either at the festival or the nearby Waterside District, dinner this evening will be on our own.
BDay 3
Our morning after breakfast will begin with an opportunity to explore the decks and speak to the sailors of the Tall Ships we saw during the Parade of Sail. Afterward, we will have a self-guided tour of Nauticus and the Battleship Wisconsin. Immerse yourself in the interactive history and science exhibits of Norfolk's science center, Nauticus which includes the Hampton Roads Naval Museum. Located next to Nauticus is the Battleship Wisconsin. Walk the teak decks, explore the interior rooms, and discover the vast history of the largest and last battleship ever built by the U.S. Navy. We will then set sail for a dinner cruise to view the Tall Ships from the water. This evening, we will have additional time to enjoy the Harborfest Celebrations.
Day 4
After breakfast, we will depart from our hotel and from Norfolk. With stops for rest and lunch enroute, arrival home is planned for later this evening.
