Memphis & Nashville

Day 1

Today we begin our journey to the two U.S. cities that are best-known for their signature sounds. With stops for rest & lunch, we'll arrive to our first night's lodging in Abingdon, VA. Dinner will be included at a local restaurant this evening.

Day 2

After breakfast, we will continue our journey south. With stops for rest & lunch, we'll arrive in Nashville. Upon arrival, we will have a guided walking tour of the world-famous Gaylord Opryland Resort. After checking-in to our Nashville accommodations, we will have free time for dinner on your own. This evening we will enjoy entertainment at the Grand Ole Opry, the longest-running radio broadcast in US history. Dedicated to honoring country music and it's history, the Opry showcases a mix of famous singers and contemporary chart-toppers performing country, bluegrass, Americana, folk, and gospel music, as well as comedic performances and skits.

Day 3

This morning, after breakfast, we will enjoy a guided tour of Nashville including a visit to the Ryman Auditorium. After free time for lunch on your own in downtown Nashville, we will depart for Memphis. Upon arrival we will enjoy an included dinner at a nearby restaurant before we check-in to our Memphis accommodations.

Day 4

After breakfast, we will depart for Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley. Our visit includes an audio-guided tour of the Graceland Mansion, a self-guided tour of Elvis' Custom Jets, and full access to Elvis Presley's Memphis Entertainment Complex which includes the Presley Motors Automobile Museum, the Entertainer Career Museum and Discovery Exhibits. Lunch will be on your own at Graceland today. After our Elvis-inspired touring, we'll depart for the hotel. You can choose to relax at the hotel, or take an optional visit to the Pyramid in the uptown section of Memphis. There will be time for everyone to freshen up at the hotel before an included dinner tonight on Beale Street.

Day 5

Following breakfast we will enjoy a guided driving tour Memphis. See Overton Park, Cotton Row, the Lorraine Motel, and much more. After, we will visit Sun Studios for a guided tour of the "Birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll". Stand in the very spot where Elvis recorded his first record, see the priceless memorabilia of all the musical legends that recorded here, and hear exclusive outtakes from recording sessions from artists who were drawn to the new "Sun Sound". Following an included lunch at a local restaurant, we will meet our guide for a walking tour of Beale Street. After, we will visit the Rock N Soul Museum where you can follow the journey of musical pioneers who shook the world with their groundbreaking music during our self-guided visit. A stop will be made at the Peabody Hotel for the famous duck march. Dinner this evening will be on your own on Beale Street.

Day 6

This morning, after breakfast, we will start our journey home. Stops for rest and lunch will be made along the way. Our evening's lodging will be in Abingdon, VA. Dinner is at your leisure.

Day 7

After breakfast, we will continue our homeward journey. With stops for rest & lunch, our arrival is scheduled for early evening.

Motorcoach seating is assigned at the time of reservation but cannot be guaranteed. Although we do our best to keep each traveler in the seat assigned at the time of reservation, there are times that it is necessary to move seat locations. Please be sure to verify your final seat number(s) with your driver at the time of boarding. Historically, daily seat rotation was practiced on most multi-day tours. We have suspended this practice for a period of time. Seat rotation will be explained by your driver or tour escort if reinstated.
