Kitchener's Oktoberfest & Niagara Falls

Day 1

We start our tour with overnight lodging in St. Catharines, Ontario.

Day 2

Today we travel to the Waterloo Region to experience Canada's largest year-round farmers' market. A local guide will share the "Industry to Innovation" path that this region is well known for. Later, we kick off Oktoberfest with dinner at a traditional Festhallen. Celebrating the spirit of Gemutlichkeit since 1969, the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest was established as a civic festival honoring Bavarian traditions and local German Canadian heritage. The festival has become the largest Bavarian festival in North America. The next 3 nights will be spent in Waterloo.

Day 3

Today we'll be taken away from the highways to explore the scenic backroads where rolling hills and fall color is the backdrop to our "Sunday Drive". Experience travel as our ancestors did and learn about the history of the railways that made Canada what it is today. We'll travel in restored 1920's coaches over the rails of a century-old branch line. Enjoy the sights & sounds of the vintage locomotive as you travel through the rolling countryside while the Conductor gives informative commentary.

Day 4

It'll be an early morning as we take our bleacher seats for Canada's Thanksgiving Day Parade, or as locals know it, Oktoberfest Parade. Later we will take a countryside tour of Canada's largest concentration of Mennonites where we'll be shown the contrast between their conservative lifestyle amidst Canada's high-tech community.

Day 5

Today we get to see Niagara Falls from multiple vantage points and learn about the storied history of the world's most famous waterfall. Traveling along Niagara Parkway, we'll enjoy the falls and it's beautiful setting.

Day 6

This morning we depart for home.

A passport is required for ALL travel between the U.S. and Canada.
If you are bringing children on the tour other than your own, customs is requiring that you have a registered letter of approval from their parents.

Our intention is to run each tour as originally planned and published. However, if deemed necessary to do so, Perkiomen Tours reserves the right to make changes to tour components, schedules or itineraries without prior notification.

Tips for Perkiomen motorcoach drivers and tour escorts are not included in the price of this tour. We feel that these gratuities should be extended on an individual basis and dictated by the level of service provided.

Motorcoach seating is assigned at the time of reservation but cannot be guaranteed. Although we do our best to keep each traveler in the seat assigned at the time of reservation, there are times that it is necessary to move seat locations. Please be sure to verify your final seat number(s) with your driver at the time of boarding. Historically, daily seat rotation was practiced on most multi-day tours. We have suspended this practice for a period of time. Seat rotation will be explained by your driver or tour escort if reinstated.
