Christmas in the Capital with 'A Christmas Carol'

Day 1

Today we arrive in Washington, DC where we start with a guided tour of the Basilica of the National Shrine of Immaculate Conception. Here we learn about the Shrine's history, architecture, and ecclesiastical art. Lunch will be on our own before our visit to the United States Botanical Gardens to see the holiday exhibit "Season's Greenings", featuring model trains, festive lights and thousands of poinsettias. We will then check-in to a destination itself, the Gaylord National Resort. Perched on the banks of the Potomac River, the resort welcomes guests to an upscale resort experience in the heart of National Harbor. As part of our overnight stay, you can ride the National Harbor Circulator bus which can take you to MGM Casino, Tanger Outlets, the National Harbor Waterfront, and more. The Capital Wheel is a local favorite. Soar 180 feet above the Potomac River for incomparable views of the harbor and the capital across the river. Discover shops, restaurants, and entertainment options, this evening is free to enjoy as you wish. Included in our overnight stay is admission into the Resort's ICE! Exhibit.

Day 2

This morning is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Free time for lunch and browsing will be in Old Town Alexandria, VA before a matinee performance of "A Christmas Carol" at Ford's Theatre. After the performance, we will depart for home.

Motorcoach seating is assigned at the time of reservation but cannot be guaranteed. Although we do our best to keep each traveler in the seat assigned at the time of reservation, there are times that it is necessary to move seat locations. Please be sure to verify your final seat number(s) with your driver at the time of boarding. Historically, daily seat rotation was practiced on most multi-day tours. We have suspended this practice for a period of time. Seat rotation will be explained by your driver or tour escort if reinstated.
