2026 marks 250 years since our country gained its independence. This tour is a great way to commemorate our nation's milestone anniversary as you experience the history, heritage, and spirit of America from its beginning.

Day 1

With scheduled stops for rest and lunch on your own, we will arrive at Arlington National Cemetery* by mid-afternoon. Here we will pay our respects to the men and women who selflessly dedicated their lives to the defense and protection of our country. Upon arrival, our guide will welcome us and lead us on a private tram tour through the cemetery. Afterwards, we will check-in to our overnight accommodation for the next two evenings. Dinner will be included at a local restaurant.

* Arlington National Cemetery requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license (or ID Card) or another acceptable form of federal identification, such as a passport, for all visitors over 18 years of age. There are acceptable alternatives to a REAL ID for this specific tour. If you don't have a REAL ID-compliant card (which has a star on it), you can use other forms of acceptable government-issued photo identification: A valid U.S. Passport or Passport Card, DoD Common Access Card (for military personnel), DoD Uniformed Services ID Card (for retirees and dependents), Veteran's Health Identification Card.

Day 2

After breakfast, we will depart for the National Museum of American History. During our self-guided visit, explore a collection of over one million artifacts that tells the full history of the United States. After lunch on own, we will visit the Washington National Cathedral. During our tour, we will be guided by an expert guide through the Cathedral, learning about its history, architecture, and the must-see Cathedral highlights. This evening, we will embark on a dinner cruise on the Potomac River. With a spectacular city skyline backdrop, a 3-course meal, and DJ entertainment, our night is sure to be a memorable one.

Day 3

Following breakfast, we will embark on a guided driving tour of some of the city's most iconic monuments while our guide shares their significance and stories behind each one. Afterwards, we will visit Mount Vernon, the historic estate of George Washington. During our guided walking tour of the mansion, we will explore the beautifully preserved rooms where the first President lived and entertained guests, gaining insights into his personal life and leadership. Lunch will be included today. We will then travel to Williamsburg, VA, the location of our lodging tonight. Dinner will be on your own.

Day 4

Today will begin with breakfast, followed by a guided tour of Jamestown Settlement, America's first permanent English settlement. During our visit we will visit the 1600s living history museum. After lunch on own, we will visit the world's largest living history museum, Colonial Williamsburg. Upon arrival, we will meet our guide for a guided walking tour of the gardens and historical buildings. Our guide will offer insight into the way the colonists lived and worked as a community while showing us around the 301-acre museum. Dinner will be included before we travel to Richmond, VA, the location of tonight's lodging.

Day 5

After breakfast, we will visit Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson. During our guided walking tour we will see the historic estate including the Dome Room, the library and learn about the lives of the enslaved people who lived and worked on the plantation. Following our tour, we will depart for home. With lunch, rest, and dinner stops, we anticipate arriving home later this evening.

Tips for Perkiomen motorcoach drivers and tour escorts are not included in the price of this tour. We feel that these gratuities should be extended on an individual basis and dictated by the level of service provided.

Motorcoach seating is assigned at the time of reservation but cannot be guaranteed. Although we do our best to keep each traveler in the seat assigned at the time of reservation, there are times that it is necessary to move seat locations. Please be sure to verify your final seat number(s) with your driver at the time of boarding. Historically, daily seat rotation was practiced on most multi-day tours. We have suspended this practice for a period of time. Seat rotation will be explained by your driver or tour escort if reinstated.
