Picture stops will be made at Plymouth Rock, the traditional site of disembarkation of the Pilgrims in 1620 and at the Forefather’s Monument, the largest solid granite monument in the United States. Our next stop will be at the Plimoth Grist Mill. During your visit explore the mill and learn about the importance of mills in the 1600’s, the process of grinding corn, and the ecology of the Town Brook area, including the annual herring run. We then will continue our touring to the nation’s oldest continuously operating public museum, The Pilgrim Hall Museum built in 1824. This museum houses an unmatched collection of pilgrim possessions. Lunch is on your own in downtown Plymouth. After lunch we will board a Lobster Tales Cruise to learn about the many creatures that live in Plymouth Harbor. Experience a “hands on” approach to see how lobsters are harvested from their natural environment. Roll up your sleeves to help haul in lobster traps. The rest of the afternoon we will visit Plimoth Plantation, the first permanent European settlement in Southern New England. It is the site of a living museum dedicated to recreating 17th century life in the New World with the Wampanoag tribe. Step back in time as costumed interpreters portray residents of the Colony. A traditional Thanksgiving Turkey dinner buffet will be included at the plantation.   CB, D
