Various vehicles gather passengers so that no one is inconvenienced by long motorcoach pick-up routes.

This is especially evident when you see the elaborate captain’s homes typical on Cape Cod and the islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.

New England’s heritage has traditionally been linked to the bounty of the sea. This is especially evident when you see the elaborate captain’s homes typical on Cape Cod and the islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. Today we will travel to North Falmouth on the Cape where we will spend the next two nights at Sea Crest Beach Resort.   D

Monday, September 10

Today we visit one of the country’s best preserved Victorian-era summer resorts, Martha’s Vineyard.  Following a relaxing ferryboat ride our local guide will point out 19th century Gingerbread houses, old sea captain’s homes and charming Edgartown, the oldest settlement on the island. After time for lunch and browsing the delightful shops, we will cruise back to the mainland.    B 

Tuesday, September 11

This morning we will board another ferry for a cruise to Nantucket Island, the greatest whaling port on the East coast during the 17th century. A local guide will introduce us to this living museum. Our overnight will be on the island at the beautiful Nantucket Inn. This evening we will enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.    B, L, D

            Note: Packing a smaller overnight bag for this night will allow you to leave your larger suitcase on the motorcoach. 

Wednesday, September 12

The morning will be free to explore. Returning to the mainland on the afternoon ferry we will travel to South Yarmouth for the next two evenings at the Blue Water Resort.    B, D

Thursday, September 13

Our guide will point out the sights as we travel country roads to the tip of the Cape, Provincetown.  Once a thriving fishing village, it is now a resort and artist colony with shops and galleries along its narrow streets. After free time for lunch and shopping we’ll board a sightseeing boat for a cruise to the whale’s feeding grounds. In addition to humpback and finback whales we are likely to see an abundance of other sea life such as dolphins and sea birds. Dinner will be on your own this evening.    B 

Friday, September 14

Today we leave Cape Cod behind as we begin our journey home. Our arrival home is scheduled for early evening.    B
