Monday, October 3
Today we begin our autumn adventure of touring two New England states, Vermont and New Hampshire. Later this afternoon, we will check into our Vermont lodging for the next two evenings. Tonight we will enjoy dinner at the Cascades Lodge. D
Tuesday, October 4
After breakfast, we will depart with our local guide to enjoy a tour of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream. A most exquisite luncheon at Trapp Family Lodge is included today. Following lunch you will have free time to visit the property, lodge & gift shop. We will stop in the village of Stowe to browse the shops of this charming village with its “most photographed Church steeple” before returning to the Lodge. Dinner will be on your own this evening. Wednesday, October 5
This morning we will travel to New Hampshire with a stop on the way at Quechee Gorge, Vermont’s Little Grand Canyon. We are off to Franconia Notch Visitor’s Center where we will view the orientation film to the park, see the exhibits and have lunch in the cafeteria on our own. We will be able to take the gentle walk to the Basin to view the “Old Man’s Foot”, a natural granite pothole at the base of the waterfalls. Then we’ll enjoy a ride to the top of Loon Mountain on a gondola. Dinner and entertainment will be at our lodging, the Silver Fox Inn in Waterville Valley, NH. B, D
Thursday, October 6
After a continental breakfast, we will depart with a local guide for a narrated boat cruise on Squam Lake where “On Golden Pond” was filmed; be on the lookout for loons! Lunch will be on your own in the charming village of Wolfeboro. This afternoon we will visit the Loon Center to see the display, exhibits, award-winning videos and interpretive talks that will introduce us to the wonders of New Hampshire’s environment and wildlife. Then, to complete the day, we will enjoy a turkey dinner onboard the Winnipesaukee scenic train riding along the shores of the Lake. CB, D

This morning we will enjoy a hearty continental breakfast at the Inn, before we head for home. CB
