Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25
Our Nova Scotia / Prince Edward Island adventure begins as we travel to our first night’s lodging in Portland, Maine. Tomorrow, following a delicious lunch in Brewer, Maine, we will travel through virtually uninhabited Maine woods to Calais where we cross into Canada. After a visit to the Reversing Falls, we will go on to our lodging in Saint John, New Brunswick. B, L
Sunday, June 26
Fundy National Park is our highlight this morning. Here we will view the Rocks, known as nature’s flower pots. Crossing the new Northumberland Strait Bridge, “The World’s Greatest Engineering Feat”, will bring us to Prince Edward Island for our two-night stay in Charlottetown. Following free time to shop, walk or just relax we will enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. D
Monday, June 27
Today a native guide will introduce us to the sights and local history of Prince Edward Island. We will visit the Anne of Green Gables Museum in Kensington before viewing the North Shore beaches and an Acadian fishing village. We will tour the world famous Green Gables at Cavendish Beach, and much more before retiring for the evening. D

Tuesday, June 28
Nova Scotia, here we come! A short ferry crossing will bring us to Caribou, Nova Scotia. Our first stop will be at the Gaelic College in St. Annes. Dedicated to the preservation of Scottish culture, the college is the only one of its kind in North America. The Hall of Clans presents a visual history of the clans and tartans as well as the Highland Scottish pioneers of Cape Breton. As we travel eastward to Cape Breton Island, one of the highlights will be the Alexander Graham Bell Museum at Baddeck which houses a remarkable collection of his early inventions. Our lodging for the next two evenings will overlook the beautiful Bros d’Or Lakes.
Wednesday, June 29
Today we travel one of the most scenic highways in North America, the Cabot Trail. Continuing our coastal drive we will have numerous opportunities for pictures as the highway winds through Cape Breton Highland Park, past majestic rock bluffs, over the summits of lofty peaks, and through deep streamlined valleys.
Thursday, June 30
Enjoy an unforgettable drive along Nova Scotia’s Eastern Shore, “where forest meets the sea”. Picturesque harbors and coves please the eye at every bend of the road. During our two-night stay in Halifax, we will have a chance to visit the Citadel and witness the Changing of the Guard.
Friday, July 1
A tour of Halifax will fill our morning. We’ll enjoy free time at Peggy’s Cove this afternoon. This evening we will enjoy the Nova Scotia International Tattoo. B
Saturday, July 2
This morning we will visit the famous Evangeline Country in Grand Pre, and then travel to Digby to board the MV Princess of Acadia for a 3 hour crossing of the Bay of Fundy. This evening we will overnight in St. John, New Brunswick. B
Sunday, July 3
This morning we depart New Brunswick and head south to visit historic Campobello Island, the summer vacation retreat of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Lodging this evening will be in Portland, ME.
Monday, July 4
Today an outstanding maritime tour will come to a close as New England scenery leads us home by early evening. B
