Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta

Flying to Albuquerque, we will be met by a local guide at the Sunport who will assist in our motorcoach transfer to our hotel. After a bit of free time to settle in and freshen up we will reboard the coach for dinner at one of Albuquerque’s fine restaurants. We will return to the hotel following dinner. D
Saturday, October 3
This morning it is up, up and away bright and early to Balloon Fiesta Park and the Mass Ascension. You will then have a guided tour of historic Old Town, and enjoy a group lunch. There will be time to shop and explore on your own before watching the Native American dancers at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. B, L
Sunday, October 4
Today we travel the Turquoise Trail Scenic Byway past former ghost towns to historic Santa Fe, the state capital. Once in Santa Fe we will enjoy a guided tour of the historic district that ends on the historic Plaza. Then its back to the hotel for a rest before heading for the Balloon Glow. B
Monday, October 5
This morning we will go to the base of the majestic Sandia Mountains where you will have the opportunity to ride the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway. The ride takes you 2.7 miles up for a breathtaking panoramic view of over 11,000 square miles. Then we are off to the oldest continually inhabited village in the United States, Acoma “Sky City” Pueblo. Acoma is located about an hour west of Albuquerque. When we arrive at the base of the mesa, we join an Acoma guide for a tour of the village. While there is no running water or electricity in the village itself there are still people living there as their ancestors did. We return to Albuquerque for our Farewell Dinner. B, L, D
Tuesday, October 6
This morning after breakfast we will depart for the Albuquerque Sunport, where we will catch our flight back home. B
