Join us for one of the top 100 events in the United States according to the American Bus Association, the Annual Adirondack Balloon Festival. Upon arrival we will have lunch at Lillian’s Restaurant in Saratoga, with time to stroll the village. Our guide will take us on a tour of historic Saratoga. Our accommodations are at the Comfort Inn & Suites where we will enjoy refreshments and orientation before departing for the Balloon Festival Opening Ceremonies at Crandall Park. Spend the time up close with the balloons as they are inflated for take off and talk with the balloonists. Enjoy a dinner show at Georgian Resort. L, D
Friday, September 25
After breakfast this morning at our hotel, we’ll enjoy some sightseeing in Lake Placid. Visit the largest park in the US, take a tour of the Olympic Ski Jump Complex, have lunch on your own, enjoy village shopping and an area tour of Lakes Mirror and Placid and a tour of the 1932 and 1980 Olympic arenas. We will return to the hotel to relax and freshen up for this evening. Dinner awaits us at a local restaurant. CB,D
Saturday, September 26
We will awake early to depart to see over 100 balloons launched this morning. Don’t forget your camera! Enjoy free time and lunch on your own in the village. We will then go and see the 14’ Mural of “Meeting of the Fathers at Coopers Cave” and the new James Fenimore Cooper’s “Last of the Mohicans” at Cooper’s Cave Overlook. We will head back to the Adirondack Balloon Festival for liftoff, followed by free time at Lake George Village for the excitement of the moon glow, including food booths and village restaurants for dinner on your own and capped off with fireworks. Sunday, September 27
After another breakfast at the hotel we will depart on our last day of sightseeing. We will tour the French & Indian War Route of Glens Falls followed by a tour of Prospect Mt. Scenic Highway and Overlook. We will then enjoy a Lake George Lunch Cruise aboard the S.S. Lac Du Sainte Sacrement with a hot/cold buffet and magnificent views of this Queen of American Lakes. We must now depart for home. With stops for rest & dinner enroute, our arrival home will be late this evening. CB, L
