This nearby New York getaway is a fun 3 day vacation. Our first stop is the Erie Canal Village. This living history site includes a train station, blacksmith, school, Canal store, settler’s house and Victorian house. We will enjoy a special ride on the “Chief Engineer of Rome”, a horse drawn boat ride. After our check-in at the Inn at the Beeches, dinner will be enjoyed at the Savoy Restaurant. D
Saturday, August 15
After breakfast, we will have a guided tour of Fort Stanwix, a British built fort that was also an early center for commerce, travel and settlement. This “Fort That Never Surrendered”, played an important role under American command in the Revolutionary War. This afternoon we will enjoy a 1 ˝ hour cruise on the Lil’ Diamond II traveling through a lock. Experience the thrill of being raised and lowered 20 feet inside the lock walls while your Captain explains the inner working of the lock. Tonight we will enjoy dinner and a show at Beck’s Grove Dinner Theater. B, D
Sunday, August 16
Following breakfast we will depart for Cooperstown to tour the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. You will be able to get lunch on your own in downtown Cooperstown at one of the restaurants before we depart for home. Arrival back in Pennsburg will be early evening. B
