If you enjoy oysters, this tour is for you! We will be attending the Annual Oyster Festival in Urbanna, VA. The beloved oyster is always available in ample supply and in a variety of presentations: raw, roasted, fried, smoked, steamed, in fritters or in a stew. By late afternoon we will arrive at the Jamestown Settlement for our guided tour. Dinner this evening will be at River’s Inn, which is located in the York River Yacht Haven Marina on Sarah Creek. Following dinner we will check into our lodging at the Comfort Inn in Gloucester for our two nights lodging. D

Saturday, November 7
Today after breakfast, we will spend the day at the Urbanna Oyster Festival. The festival has arts and crafts, State Oyster Shucking contest, and of course, the Oyster Festival Parade. Food is provided in many different forms by over fifty vendors. The beloved oyster is always available in ample supply along with clams, crabs, shrimp, Philly steaks, hamburgers, hot dogs and other goodies too numerous to mention. The State Oyster Shucking contestants are professional shuckers from around the State who vie for the championship. The Festival Parade features antique cars, floats, numerous marching bands and beauty queens and their courts. To fully participate in this festival, walking will be required. CB, D

Sunday, November 8
This morning following breakfast, we will visit the Yorktown Victory Center. This museum chronicles America’s struggle for independence, from the beginnings of colonial unrest to the formation of the new nation. Our arrival home will be early evening. CB
