Each year in early May, more than a half million visitors descend on Holland, Michigan, for its annual Tulip Time Festival. Since 1929, the town has been honoring its Dutch heritage and the Netherlands’ most famous export with a yearly floral center piece comprised of millions of brightly colored tulips.

Monday, May 4 and Tuesday, May 5
Pennsylvania springtime panorama will provide the sights as we travel westward to our lodging for the evening in Elyria, Ohio. An early departure will begin the day as we travel into Michigan with arrival in Holland shortly after lunch. A guided tour of Holland as well as other tulip time festivities will fill our afternoon before we depart for our lodging for the next two nights in Holland, Michigan.

Wednesday, May 6
A full day of tulip time festivities is in store for today as we visit the tulip farm, Dutch Village and our reserved seats for the special themed parade. Later we will enjoy dinner at one of the local churches as well as special entertainment. CB, D

Thursday, May 7
After checking out of our hotel we will travel to Frankenmuth, Michigan where we will have a guided tour to acquaint us with the town. Afterwards we will have free time to explore the interesting Bavarian shops and have lunch in one of the many fine restaurants. Later we will visit Bronner’s Christmas Shops featuring thousands of Christmas decorations and ornaments, plus hand-carved figurines depicting 35 themes. A delicious family-style dinner will be included at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant before checking into our lodging for the evening at the Bavarian Inn Lodge. CB, D

Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9
This morning, we will travel to Akron, Ohio. Upon arrival in Akron, we will have a guided mansion tour of Stan Hywet Hall and free time to explore the gardens. Our lodging this evening is at the Hampton Inn, Akron. Tomorrow our springtime adventure will come to an end with arrival home by early evening. CB
