Optional Pompeii Tour: Saturday, November 15 (approx. 9 hours) $115/per person
We’ll have a morning departure for Pompeii. We drive south on the “Autostrada del Sole”, we pass through the regions of Lazio and Campagna, where rolling hills of green pastures lead us to the breathtaking coastal highway of the Sorrento Peninsula. We arrive in the town of Pompeii, the ancient Roman city that was buried beneath volcanic ash for over 1000 years. During our guided tour, we’ll rediscover an advanced civilization that has been uncovered by excavations, revealing temples, houses, shops and villas, destroyed by the violent eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. You’ll have time to visit the cameo shops and for lunch on your own before returning to Rome and our hotel.
